How to Use Valutico’s Full-Text Search

Advanced Search, Operators, Specific, Exclude, Transaction, Peers, Finding, Target Company, Filters, Full Text

Updated this week

Valutico’s full-text search gives you flexibility and granularity when you’re looking for specific Peers or Transactions. Our search algorithm goes beyond company names, it also looks through:

  • Company descriptions

  • Product and service names

  • Product descriptions

This allows for much more refined and relevant search results.

How It Works

  • Open the "Advanced Search"
From the top right of the Transaction or Peer Selection modules within a Valuation.

  • Enter your search terms

Type your query into the Full-Text Search field (it’s the first field in the filter panel).

⚠️ Note: Currently, full-text search only supports English terms, even if you're using Valutico in another language.

  • Apply additional filters (optional)
Combine full-text search with any of the available filters to narrow your results further:

  • Country (select one or multiple)

  • Industry

  • % of Stake Acquired

  • Market Cap

  • Regions (pre-defined groups of countries)

Using Region Filters

If you prefer to filter by Region:

  • Click on the "Region" filter in the Country search input.

  • Use the down arrow to view which countries are included in each region.

  • Tick the checkbox next to the region(s) you’d like to include in your search.

Search Syntax Tips

Here are some helpful examples to make your searches even more powerful:

Exact phrases:
Use quotation marks to search for exact matches.

→ "Online Travel"

Combining terms with AND:
To find results that include both terms.

 → "Online Travel" AND "Software"

Either/or terms:
To find results with either one term or another.

→ "Online Travel" OR "Software"

Excluding terms:

Use a minus sign (-) to exclude terms.

→ "Online Travel" -Marketplace

(Finds results with "Online Travel" but not "Marketplace")
