How to use Valutico's full-text search

Advanced Search, Operators, Specific, Exclude, Transaction, Peers, Finding, Target Company, Filters, Full Text

Updated over a week ago

Our full-text search gives you flexibility and granularity when looking for specific transactions. When searching for Peers or Transactions, our algorithm considers a company's description, product names, service names, and even product descriptions.

Using the full-text search is straightforward:

1. Open the "Advanced Search" from the top right of the Transaction or Peer Selection Tab

The full-text search is the final field in the Filter Search.

2. Add your search terms (currently, we only support English searches, even if you use Valutico in another language) and hit "search".

You can also combine the full-text search with other filters, e.g. restrict the search to certain countries (you can select more than one country), industries, require a certain % of Stake Acquired, or a limit on Market Cap.

The system already has Region Classifications in case you want to select a set of pre-defined Regions which includes the relevant Countries. To do the same, just click on "Region" and you will be able to see the list of already-defined Regions. You can check what countries constitute each region by simply clicking on the Down Arrow next to each region. Click on the Check box to select the region for your search.

The full-text search also supports advanced operators, such as "AND", "OR", or "-".

Examples -

  • If you want to search for multiple specific words or terms, put them in quotation marks; e.g. "Online Travel".

  • If you want to search for more than one specific search term, use "AND" -
    "Online Travel" AND "Software"

  • If you are looking for either of two terms you must use "OR" in between, like "Online Travel" OR "Software"

  • You can also search transactions that do not have certain words/phrases using "-" like Online Travel -Marketplace to look for transactions involving a company with "Online Travel" in its description & products, but not the term "Marketplace".
