In addition to Valutico's standard valuation methods, you can now manually add your own custom valuation methods to the Football Field chart within the Valuation Overview section. This can be useful when applying proprietary valuation models, external benchmarks, industry specific methods, or other approaches that are not available as standard methods in Valutico.
Adding a Custom Valuation Method
Custom valuation methods can be added directly from the Valuation Overview section.
Open the Valuation Methods menu in the top-right corner
In the menu, locate the valuation method category where the custom method should be added (for example, Entity Approaches, Equity Approaches, Trading Comparables, Transaction Comparables, Venture Capital, LBO, or Asset based Approaches)
Click the + button next to the desired category
Enter the following information:
Valuation Method Name: The name of the custom valuation method
Subtitle (optional): Additional context or assumptions for the method
Minimum, Midpoint, and Maximum Values: The valuation range and midpoint for the method
Upload calculation (optional): Upload supporting calculations of the valuation method in excel format
Key Considerations
Custom valuation methods should be entered using the valuation basis currently selected. If Enterprise Value (EV) is selected, the minimum, midpoint, and maximum values entered should represent Enterprise Value. If Equity Value is selected, the entered values should represent Equity Value.
When switching between EV and Equity Value after adding the custom method, the values are automatically converted using the values in the net debt bridge
Custom methods are treated the same as standard valuation methods and are incorporated into the concluded Valuation Range based on their assigned weighting
Up to 10 custom methods can be added to a single valuation.
