How to edit Valuation Method Weights

Each valuation method displayed in the Football Field chart contributes to the concluded Valuation Range based on its assigned weight. By default, all active methods carry a predefined weight, but you can adjust these to better reflect your professional judgement on the relative importance of each approach.

Default Weights

Valutico applies the following default weights to each valuation method group:

  • Entity Approaches, Equity Approaches, Net Asset Value and LBO methods weighted at 2

  • Trading Multiples, Transaction Multiples, Venture Capital methods weighted at 1

How to Edit the Weights?

  1. Click on Edit Weights in the Football Field chart on the Valuation Overview screen.

  2. Change the weight of any method to any other whole number (decimals are not permitted as inputs) and click on the Save button.

  3. The platform will automatically calculate and display each method's relative percentage, showing its share of the total weight across all active methods after changing the weights.

Please Note:

  • Setting a method's weight to 0 excludes it entirely from the Valuation Range.

  • Weights apply per valuation only, changing weights in one valuation does not affect any other.

How Do Weights Affect the Valuation Range?

The concluded Valuation Range is calculated as a weighted average of all active methods using the weights you assign. The more consistent the results of your weighted methods are, the narrower the range will be and the more they vary, the wider the range becomes.
