When creating a Private Company Valuation with our private markets module, there are two options for selecting a date. You can either input a specific date for the Valuation to be considered, or leave this field blank.
β
The valuation is locked to this date if you input a specific date. For example, if you create a Valuation with the Date of December 8th, 2017, whenever you view the valuation in the future it will reflect this date.
β
If you leave the field blank, the valuation will update to show the date of your most recent changes to the Valuation.
β
If you are working on a repeating project, this is the best option - as you can create an export with a specific, unchanging date, while the project can be continued in the future. For example, if you need to produce a quarterly report. You can export a Valuation for Q1 - then during Q2 make any applicable changes, and export the updated valuation for Q2.
β
In case you want to change the Valuation date for an existing Project, navigate to the Valuation Settings of the Project that you are working on. You will then be able to change/ remove the date from here.
This will also show in the audit log, in case of changes need to be reviewed or traced.
