Understanding the Valuation Date Options

When setting up a Private Company Valuation, you have two options for selecting a valuation date:

  1. Fixed Date: If you enter a specific date (e.g., December 8, 2017), the valuation will always reflect this date, even when viewed in the future.

  2. Dynamic Date: If you leave the date field blank, the valuation will automatically update to reflect the most recent changes made to the valuation.

Best Practices for Repeating Projects

For ongoing projects, leaving the date field blank can be useful. This allows you to generate reports with an updated valuation date while maintaining continuity in your work.

For example:

  • You can export a valuation for Q1 with a specific date.

  • In Q2, you can make updates and generate a new export with the latest valuation data.

How to Change the Valuation Date

If you need to modify the valuation date for an existing project:

  1. Navigate to the Company Details module within a valuation.

  2. Update or remove the valuation date as needed.

By adjusting the date settings, you can ensure your valuation reflects the most relevant timeframe for your analysis and reporting.
